Robinho targeting Euro glory

Manchester City ace Robinho is hopeful that his side can go all the way in this season's UEFA Cup and begin the climb towards the pinnacle of the game.

The 24-year-old former Real Madrid forward has made a flying start to his time with the Citizens, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances to date.

He is set to sit out the trip to Schalke this week due to an ankle injury, but the South American hopes to have many European nights to come at Eastlands.

He said: "We can win the UEFA Cup, it is one of our targets.

"We know we are a side that is developing and growing, but we also know we are capable of great things when we play well. We have shown that in many games.

"The rest of the players and me admire the ambitions of the owners of this club. We all want to strive to make City one of the best in the world.

"I want to stay here for many years and make history. Doing well in the UEFA Cup would be a great way to start."
