Robinho fires form warning
27 Sep 2008 - 14:42:34
Manchester City star Robinho has fired an ominous warning to the rest of the Premier League that he is nowhere near peak form, yet.
The British record transfer signing £32.5million Brazilian has found the net twice in just two Premier League games since his arrival at the beginning of the month from Real Madrid.
But the 24-year-old believes his best is yet to come as he becomes more accustomed to life in England.
"In a few weeks' time fans in England will start to see the real Robinho," he said.
"I have already noticed at City there is a far better atmosphere in the dressing room then we had at Real Madrid.
"I want to get as many goals as possible for City and prove that I was worth the money they paid.
"First of all I have a target of 15 and then we will take it from there.
"Every day that goes by I'm settling in more and becoming more united with the team."
Meanwhile, Robinho has set his sights on helping his new club break the big four's stranglehold on the Premier League and secure Champions League football.
He added: "I want to do as well as we can this year and then try and play in the Champions League as quick as possible.
"We know that will be difficult but we have to have ambition."
