Robinho can't wait for debut
03 Sep 2008 - 08:14:20
Robinho is excited by the prospect of making his Manchester City debut later this month against the team that he seemed certain to join this summer - Chelsea.
The Brazil international eventually moved to Eastlands on a dramatic last day of the transfer window and seems certain to make his debut for Mark Hughes' side against the Blues on September 13.
The 24-year-old is looking forward to the encounter, saying: "I like this fixture as my first game. Brazilians are used to playing under pressure.
"You cannot play for Brazil without understanding how to cope with pressure. It comes with the job. It would be a good game to play well.
"I'm used to dealing with the physical power of defenders. It isn't easy in Spain, you know? I'd like to play well for my team-mates and for the supporters and to score two goals.
"I am here for sporting reasons, of course. I consider City no less than Chelsea. They have a bigger ground, they want to make great progress. I am here from the start.
"They showed their ambition with a bigger proposal than Chelsea."
