Richards faces legal battle

Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards is being sued for breach of contract by his former agents, according to a newspaper story on Friday.

The Daily Mail reports that Team Associates is demanding £1million from the player, who made a promising debut for England in Wednesday's friendly draw with Holland.

Team Associates' managing director Andy Hobson was quoted as saying: "He's under contract with us and we're actively pursuing the action against the player."

However, Richards' current representatives, SEM, claims it has been the player's representative "for some time".

Team Associates, which claims Richards is still under contract with them for another year, has employed sports lawyers Cramer Richards to fight its case.
