PSG prepare swoop on critical Yaya Toure

There is something clearly not right with the relationship of star midfielder Yaya Toure and reigning champions Man City. The player initially accused the Sky Blues of not properly marking his birthday and since then of not allowing the player to spend time with his dying brother.

The Qatar oil-backed PSG appear to be on a collision course with the Emirates oil-backed Man City over the future of the player who has been speaking out about the trip to Abu Dhabi at the end of the season which he asked to be excused from to visit the late Ibrahim Toure who was battling cancer:

"At the end of the season, I wanted to stay for four or five days with my brother before I flew to prepare for the World Cup with Ivory Coast," he said. "Except that City did not want to give me a few days.

"I went to celebrate the title championship in Abu Dhabi while my brother was in his sickbed. By fortune, Kolo (another brother) was at his bedside.

"I blame myself for not insisting and for not leading them to respect me. However, club officials knew that I had been suffering for a few months, seeing the health of my brother decline."

Man City did not wish to comment on the accusation but have never denied a player or manager requests for compassionate leave. It has also been noted that City have been supporting Yaya and Kolo for the past few months, offering pastoral care for the whole family.

The 31-year-old signed a four-year contract 12 months ago and recently said that it would be an “honour” to play for PSG. The report in The Mirror states that Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their interest in the creative midfielder.
