Pearce hails Greek ace

Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras earned high praise from manager Stuart Pearce after his two-goal salvo in the 2-1 victory over Everton.

The 21-year-old Greece international had not scored for the Citizens since late September, but made an instant impact after being introduced as a half-time substitute against the Toffees.

Pearce said: "You have to remember he is a 21-year-old, who is playing in the Premier League for the first time.

"He can be a handful on any given day or can also trip over the ball.

"He is still learning the game, but has a fantastic aptitude to learn and when someone can come on for 45 minutes and turn a game like he did, he has to be respected."
