Pearce admits City's failings

Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has admitted his side has under-achieved in the Premiership this season.
Pearce was reportedly close to being sacked before a 2-0 victory at Middlesbrough on their last Premiership outing two weeks ago.
The Citizens are currently 15th in the table and Pearce - who was appointed temporary England Under-21s manager earlier in the season - has conceded his side haven't lived up to expectations this term.
"We are a good club and there is a good spirit at the club, but we are probably a couple of wins shy of where we should have been this season," he admitted.
"We have got to make sure between now and the summer that we get enough wins under our best to make sure we have a decent finish to the season."
However, despite their travails in the league, Pearce believes his side has enough points in the bag and quality in the squad to avoid being dragged into a relegation dogfight.
He added: "We are in a situation now where the next three games are big, big games for this football club - there is no doubt about that.
"In my opinion it is three from eight teams that probably have a realistic chance of being relegated, and one or two clubs could really do their cause a great turn by getting positive results."
