Nasri has confidence in Hart

Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri believes Saturday's early kick-off against Everton offers Joe Hart the perfect opportunity to bounce back from his latest mishaps.

Hart was at fault for two of the goals City conceded in their 3-1 Champions League hammering by Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old has had an indifferent past year with his mistakes against the Germans merely the latest in a series of errors for City or England.

There had been speculation Hart's place for England's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland could be under threat but manager Roy Hodgson has publicly backed his number one.

Nasri is also in no doubt his colleague will recover and has backed him to shine against in-form Everton at Eastlands this weekend, when the whole team will also want to respond.

The Frenchman said: "I think that when you are a top player like Joe, you don't have problems with confidence.

"Sometimes you can have a rough patch but he knows everyone is behind him at the club.

"The good thing for Joe and the rest of us is that we play on Saturday at 12.45, so we don't need to think too long about what happened."

Hart was widely proclaimed as one of the best goalkeepers in the world after producing a string of outstanding saves in a Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund 12 months ago.

Since then his form may have dipped but Nasri remains convinced he is among the game's elite.
