Milan play down Gattuso link

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has poured cold water on reports in the press that Premier League duo Manchester City and Chelsea are ready to make a move for Gennaro Gattuso.

The 31-year-old hasn't been in manager Leonardo's plans and is expected to be made available when the transfer window opens in the new year but Galliani has dismissed the rumours.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Galliani said: "I am not aware that Manchester City are interested in him.

"I have also spoken to Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti and Rino Gattuso is not in his plans."
