Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has called for an end to the simmering feud between Carlos Tevez and Gary Neville.
Tevez branded his former Manchester United captain an "idiot" and a "boot-licker" in an explosive Argentinian radio interview on Thursday amid the continuing fallout from a feisty Carling Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday night.
The two former Old Trafford team-mates traded gestures after Tevez scored his first of two goals in City's 2-1 win at Eastlands.
But ahead of next week's combustible second leg at Old Trafford, Mancini has urged the pair to draw a line under their public spat.
"I think these things can sometimes happen after a match," explained the Italian. "The players are tired and sometimes they do not think what they are saying.
"It is important that this matter is finished now as we need to focus on our next game."
