Mancini hails example Tevez
09 Apr 2010 - 13:59:28
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has urged the rest of his strikers to follow the example set by Carlos Tevez.
Tevez has scored 26 goals this season - including six in his latest seven games - and Mancini has held up the tenacious Argentina international as an example to follow.
Mancini has demanded a more hard-working approach from his frontmen despite City scoring six goals last weekend in a rout of Burnley.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's visit of Birmingham City to Eastlands, he told the club's official website: "We have a good attack but it is important for us that our strikers, when we've lost the ball, work for their team-mates and defend like midfielders. It is important for the team's balance.
"Of course, scoring goals is the main thing, but one striker must work for the other team-mates, play short with the midfield.
"Carlos has a good technique, he'll come back to get the ball and it is very difficult to mark him well."
