Mancini dismisses pressure talk
25 Feb 2010 - 09:22:49
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insists he is not feeling the pressure even after his team's FA Cup hopes were ended by Stoke City on Wednesday.
The Citizens, who were beaten by Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup earlier this year, slumped to a 3-1 fifth-round replay defeat at the Britannia Stadium and had Emmanuel Adebayor sent off.
Mancini's side have only won two of their last eight games but the former Internazionale coach said he was "absolutely not" feeling the heat.
He added: "We had a good chance to go to the next round and the final but this is football, we must improve.
"I'm disappointed because we lost. My opinion is that we played very well. We dominated the game and had six or seven chances to score a goal before the sending off of Emmanuel.
"Football is strange. When you play well and have a lot of chances, if you don't score something can change the game. Until the situation it was our best performance in the last three or four games."
Of Adebayor's dismissal, he added: "Manu played very well, fantastic. For me - maximum yellow card. It was not so dangerous."
