Mancini: Hart is a good goalkeeper
12 Sep 2010 - 11:43:54
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini stood up for Joe Hart after the goalkeeper's error led to Blackburn's goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw between the two clubs at Eastlands.
The England shot-stopper rushed out of his penalty area to deal with a long ball forward but became embroiled in a mix-up with team-mate Kolo Toure, allowing Nikola Kalinic to slot the ball into an empty net in the 24th minute.
City eventually equalised through Patrick Vieira but it was another two points lost for big-spending City who lost their last game at Sunderland.
However, Mancini would only say: "It was a strange goal. It can happen. This is football. Joe Hart is a good goalkeeper.
"It was very difficult for Carlos Tevez as he only arrived the day before the game. But I still thought he had a good match.
"We were very unlucky. We must have had 25 chances to score against Blackburn. It is very hard when teams put ten players behind the ball but we have to try and find a solution."
