Manchester City set their sights on 20m Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino

Manchester City are reported to be ready to make a move for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino. Heads I'm leaving: Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino is another player on the Manchester City wishlist The Italy international is said to be on the burgeoning list of forwards being tracked by Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini. The 27-year-old is Fiorentina's top scorer - with 15 goals in 35 Serie A games - but is frustrated that the ninth-place club have failed to build on last season's achievement of qualifying for the Champions League. He was recently touted as a possible replacement at Valencia for Barcelona-bound David Villa and valued at around £20m. Meanwhile, his highly-rated strike partner Stevan Jovetic is ready to commit his future to the club. The 20-year-old Montenegro international was linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid after scoring twice against Liverpool in September. Fiorentina have stalled in offering him a new deal, but Jovetic wants to repay the faith that has been shown in him at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. 'I'm ready to sign,' he said. 'I'm good here, (Florence) is a fantastic city with people that have greeted me with love.'  Manchester City striker Tevez wants to stay with Mancini at EastlandsAnother blow for City!
