Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips urges side to get job done at Old Trafford
Former Man United striker Tevez ensured a 2-1 first-leg for Roberto Mancini's team as City overturned Ryan Giggs's opener to claim a thrilling victory at Eastlands. The win puts Man City on the brink of their first major final since the 1981 FA Cup Final defeat against Spurs. The club have waited even longer - 34 years - since last lifting a major trophy. Wright-Phillips said: 'We know that the job is only half done, but we know too that we will get all the backing we need next week. 'If there are only a thousand of our fans there at Old Trafford they will make themselves heard so goodness knows what it will be like with 10,000! 'But we have to make sure we give them something to sing and shout about. 'What we have to do is savour this victory and then put it aside because we have a game on Sunday night against Scunthorpe in the FA Cup that we have to win. 'We will be back in training for that match on Wednesday morning because preparation is everything.' Although Tevez stole the headlines by consigning his former club to defeat, Wright-Phillips, back to full fitness after an ankle injury, insists that the victory was about more than one man. He said: 'Carlos Tevez was fantastic again for us, he has been unbelievable all season. 'His energy is superb, but everyone played their part in what was a memorable win and that's a few we have had over United in recent seasons. 'From my point of view, I felt strong in terms of running for most of the match and I was glad to get some game time in.'
