Manchester City monitor Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko as replacement for Patrick Vieira

Manchester City could replace Patrick Vieira with the man seen as his natural successor in the France national team. City are monitoring Toulouse midfield Moussa Sissoko as they look to add more bite in the middle of the park, but they face competition from Lyon. Liverpool have also been linked, while Tottenham Hotspur made an approach in January but have since sealed the signing of Brazil international Sandro from Internacional. Sources in France say City officials met with Sissoko's representatives in Paris last week. Toulouse are reluctant to lose their young star, but a bid of about £15million would be hard to resist, and it has been reported that he has a £16.5m release clause written into his contract. Manchester City set to take on Real Madrid in race to sign Lazio star Alexander KolarovReal likely to gazump Manchester City and Europe's leading lights to GansoMANCHESTER CITY FC
