Manchester City confirm interest in Napoli pair
Manchester City first team coach Fausto Salsano has confirmed that the club are looking to try and sign Napoli duo Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi from the Italian club.
With Carlos Tevez seemingly set to leave the club in January his Argentine compatriot Lavezzi would make for a good replacement, while Hamsik is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.
The Slovakian captain has been subject to much transfer speculation ever since his days at Brescia. He eventually opted to move to Napoli in 2007, where he has remained for the last four years.
Roberto Mancini previously bid for Hamsik during his time at Inter Milan and the duo impressed during the recent 1-1 draw between the sides in the Champions League. The fate of the two clubs in Europe could dictate if any potential deal happens in January, although it seems more likely that City will move for them in the summer.
"They are two players who we like because our objective at City is to do great things and win," Salsano told Radio Crc.
"Hamsik has become an important player with the right experience, while Lavezzi is devastating and can hurt people in one on one situations."
