Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini targets Premier League title

On a mission: City boss Mancini Roberto Mancini insists Manchester City fans will not have too long to dwell on missing out on the Champions League as next season they will be aiming for a bigger prize. City finished fifth in the Barclays Premier League as Tottenham snatched the final place in Europe's premier club competition. But Mancini is confident his improving side will be challenging for the title in 2011. 'I want to win a lot of trophies with this club,' he said. 'We did OK this season, but next season I want us to aim to win the Premier League. 'I think our fans are incredible and they have been wonderfully supportive to me since I first arrived. 'It makes me more determined than ever to bring them success - when we win our first trophy it will be a very good moment for everyone, I think.' Mancini is determined the players will hit the ground running at the start of next season. He added on the club's official website: 'I think the most importantthing I try to instil in my players is that they must always believethat they can win - we need a winning mentality at this club becauseeventually, it pays off. Done and dusted: Peter Crouch's header at Eastlands clinched fourth for Spurs 'It doesn't happen overnight and can take maybe six or eight months to really be absorbed, but if you are prepared to work hard every game, you will always have a chance of being successful. 'It's a simple observation, but very true - you can't win anything without working hard.'   Manchester City nip in quick for £24m Milner as Chelsea join the raceUps and downs: Our guide to the all the promotion and relegation dramaManchester City worry me now, says United manager Sir Alex FergusonManchester City have a ball digging up Thaksin Shinawatra's magic crystalsMANCHESTER CITY FC
