Man City allow quartet to leave

Manchester City have released left-back Michael Ball, midfielder Dietmar Hamann, right-back Danny Mills and striker Darius Vassell. The deals of the quartet had expired and they were not offered new contracts at Eastlands. The four join striker Daniel Sturridge and fringe players Glauber Berti and Richard Martin in leaving City.
