Knee injury sidelines Bellamy
01 Apr 2009 - 14:06:30
Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has been ruled out of Wales' World Cup qualifier against Germany on Wednesday after injuring his knee in training.
There are also fears that Jason Koumas could miss the match with the hip problem he was troubled with during Saturday's home defeat to Finland.
Bellamy had been out for a month with knee trouble before playing the full 90 minutes against the Finns.
City boss Mark Hughes hopes his other international stars return to Eastlands injury-free, saying: "Most of the players are playing high-profile games for their countries that are crucial to their World Cup qualification.
"The intensity of these matches can have an impact. The results are all-important.
"If you come back with a couple of positive results then you come back to the club on a high - but if they've had two disappointments and are out of the World Cup running for another four years, then you have to pick them up."
