Manchester City defender Stephen Jordan is set to sign a new long-term contract in the near future.
The 22-year-old almost left the club last summer, but decided to stay put and was rewarded with a run in the first team before picking up an ankle injury against West Brom.
Jordan told the Manchester Evening News: "The manager has told me the board have spoken to him about a new contract, so I hope we can get that sorted out in the near future.
"My current deal is up at the end of the season and I was hoping to get a new one, so this is a massive boost.
"The aim now is to get back in the team and play as many matches as possible.
"The ten games I've played have given me an appetite for first-team football and I cannot wait to get back."
