Johnson completes City switch

Manchester City have landed Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson for an undisclosed fee on transfer deadline day.

The England Under-21 international had been linked with a move to Eastlands since the transfer window opened at the beginning of January and City finally landed their man for an undisclosed fee believed to be around the £7million mark late on deadline day.

Johnson has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract at the City of Manchester Stadium.

"We are delighted that Adam has chosen to come here," manager Roberto Mancini told the club's official website.

"He is a very good player with fantastic potential and as a club we are always keen to sign British talent."

Johnson made his Boro debut as a 17-year-old and went on to make 96 appearances for the Teesside club.

He scored 13 goals from a wide position during his time at the Riverside Stadium.
