Manchester City goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson faces another few weeks on the sidelines due to an injury to his right ankle that requires an operation.
The 24-year-old Sweden international has yet to feature for the Citizens since his summer arrival from French club Rennes and will have to wait a little longer for his introduction to the Premiership.
City boss Stuart Pearce told the club's official website: "Andreas will probably need a small operation to remove some floating bone in his ankle, that will happen this weekend.
"Hopefully it will only be a couple of weeks, and with the international break coming up that will be a big help for us and him."
Isaksson had earlier told the Expressen newspaper: "The surgeon says I must wait two to three weeks before I can start training again.
"But if they find anything else wrong in the foot, I may have to rest up to six weeks."
