Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that he is still hopeful of signing a couple of new players before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
Hughes was pleased with his side's performance in the 1-1 friendly draw with Celtic on Wednesday evening, but said afterwards that he is still scouring the market for new recruits.
He commented: "The game against Celtic was exactly what we needed.
"We have had a decent pre-season, we have had good quality opposition and competitive games as well, and I think we saw the benefits against Celtic.
"I am quite close to my first eleven now."
Of possible transfers in the coming weeks, the Welshman added: "If good players become available and we have the means to bring them to the club, then we will try and do that.
"We still have time. I've done business right up until the last minute of transfer windows in the past, so it may well be that we will have to do that again."
