Hughes holds no Robinho worries

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes insists he is not unduly concerned by quotes attributed to Robinho this week that saw the Brazilian state a desire to play for Barcelona. The injured forward made the headlines in Spain after declaring an interest in moving to Camp Nou in order to play under Pep Guardiola, a known admirer of his talents. It is not the first time such conjecture has emanated from Robinho's camp but Hughes is refusing to worry about paper talk, which he feels is often taken out of context. On the contrary, having accepted a player of such calibre will always attract speculation, Hughes is instead focusing on Robinho's imminent return to City's first team. "There is always speculation and noise surrounding Robbie, I think that's been the case since he came to the club," said Hughes on Sky Sports News. "I think what you are referring to is some comments that originated from the Spanish press and we don't know the context, or how the questions were put to Robbie to get the response that they did. "You can get a collection of quotes that when you tie them all up and put them together it looks like it's a story. I think there is that to be factored in. If you read the vast majority of the quotes you'll see there was a lot of positives in regards how he feels about Manchester City and what is ahead of us here." He added: "That's going to happen and it does happen with Robbie on a regular basis. He's a great guy and the only thing that is frustrating at the moment is that he is not feeling well and can't make himself available for the team. "Hopefully that will be resolved in the next week to ten days. We are not in the process of taking outstanding players out of the team. "We want to complement the outstanding players at the club. We are looking to build, not dismantle."
