Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that Tottenham are interested in signing Croatia international Vedran Corluka.
The 22-year-old defender was snapped up by former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson last summer and was a regular in the first team in 2007-08, appearing in 42 games for the club.
Hughes is unwilling to let Corluka leave so close to the start of the new Premier League campaign, saying: "The situation is that Spurs are interested but the deal hasn't been done.
"If the deal doesn't feel right then it will not be done.
"He's not with us at the moment, but I don't want to go into details. If something happens in that respect, you'll be the first to know.
"I don't like talking about any prospective business that's being done, whether or not it is likely or not, until it is actually done.
"Once deals are concluded, if they're to be finalised, then I'll discuss them."
