Hughes facing Corluka wait

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that Croatia defender Vedran Corluka could still leave the club to join Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window shuts.

The versatile 22-year-old has been strongly linked with Spurs in recent weeks and Hughes is not certain that Corluka will still be a Citizens player come the end of the day.

He said after the 3-0 win at Sunderland: "At the moment, there is a lot of interest from Spurs. It's not resolved in one way or the other at the moment.

"Those things need to be resolved and come to a conclusion. At the end of the day, we are still trying to build the club, trying to bring good players to the club who will make us better.

"I need an update. In fairness, I need to speak to people in and around the club. Things may well have happened today (Sunday).

"If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen."
