Hughes eyes Arsenal scalp
11 Sep 2009 - 09:35:32
Mark Hughes believes Arsenal are not relishing the prospect of making the trip to Manchester City to face his side on Saturday.
City have won both of their last two Premier League meetings with the Gunners at Eastlands - including a 3-0 success in November 2008.
Since then City have recruited a wealth of exciting talents - including Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure from Arsenal - and Hughes believes the north London club will not have enjoyed looking at the fixture list this week.
"Ourselves, United and Chelsea are the only British teams to have beaten Arsenal in the past ten months, which shows the consistency of results they're able to achieve," he said.
"That's what we're aiming to do. We have great respect for what they can do when they're in full flow.
"But they know we'll be a test, certainly at home, where we were outstanding against them last season when we won 3-0.
"We were very good value for that win, so we go into this game with no apprehension, because we know we can compete against them."
