Hart hoping for Capello call

Goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted it would be a dream come true to be named in England's World Cup squad.

Hart has seen his reputation spar on the back of an impressive Premier League season on loan at Birmingham City.

The 23-year-old has emerged as a genuine contender for the number one jersey occupied by Portsmouth veteran David James and West Ham's Robert Green in recent times since joining the Blues on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

However, until he is officially confirmed in coach Fabio Capello's provisional 30-man squad when it is announced on Tuesday, Hart is taking nothing for granted.

He said: "I just hope I can get into the squad. That's been my main aim all season - to perform well for Birmingham and hopefully that will result in me getting into the shake-up at the end it.

"I'd like to think I'm in the shake-up when he announces the squad in the next couple of days.

"It would be ideal to be in it - it would be a dream come true."

Hart, who was part of the England Under-21 squad which reached the final at last summer's European Championship, has won one full international cap to date.
