Manchester City have completed their second signing of the day after landing defender Glauber Berti from FC Nuremburg.
The Citizens had already sealed their £6million swoop for Espanyol's Argentina international full-back Pablo Zabaleta on Sunday.
But now manager Mark Hughes has also added centre-back Glauber to his burgeoning ranks on a one-year contract.
The 25-year-old Brazilian spent three seasons in the Bundesliga with Nuremburg after arriving from Palmeiras and becomes Hughes' sixth signing of the summer.
Meanwhile, England Under-21 midfielder Michael Johnson is on the verge of committing his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract.
The 20-year-old product of the club's academy had been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool earlier in the summer.
"Michael will put pen-to-paper over the next 24 hours," revealed Hughes.
"We are delighted because he has a fantastic future and his decision to commit his future to this club is another example of the progress we are now making."
