Garrido leaves Citizens for Lazio

Manchester City defender Javier Garrido has left Eastlands and signed for Lazio after Roberto Mancini completed the £16million signing of Aleksandar Kolarov from the Serie A club last weekend.

The Spanish defender made 62 appearances during his three years with City after joining the club from Real Sociedad.

A brief statement on City's official website read: "He leaves for Italy with the best wishes of everyone at the club."

Meanwhile, Lazio president Claudio Lotito said of the transfer: "Garrido is a Lazio player. He was our first choice to replace Kolarov."

Garrido previously featured in 86 matches for Real Sociedad after making his debut for the club almost six years ago.
