The agent of Fiorentina's French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has dismissed reports suggesting that Manchester City made a bid for his client ahead of the transfer window shutting.
The 30-year-old has spent the last five seasons with La Viola and has been linked with a move away from Florence on several occasions.
Giovanni Branchini told Violanews.com: "This is the football world, including false rumours and denials. Everyone feels entitled to speak, even if they don't know the facts.
"There wasn't any offer from Manchester City for Frey, it didn't arrive to me and from what I know, neither to (Fiorentina's sporting director) Pantaleo Corvino."
City were weighing up a move for a keeper when it looked like Shay Given may leave the club after losing his starting spot to Joe hart at the start of the new campaign.
