Fresh Johnson blow for City
11 Dec 2009 - 08:16:28
Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson may not play again this season after injuring a knee in training.
The 21-year-old only returned to training earlier this season after spending almost a year on the sidelines with an abdominal problem.
He has been a regular on the substitute's bench since late September and enjoyed some first-team action against Scunthorpe United in the Carling Cup and in the Premier League win over West Ham United.
City boss Mark Hughes is disappointed with the news, telling City's official website: "He's worked so hard to get back into first-team contention and shown everyone what a good player he is.
"Unfortunately he might be out for the season but he will receive the best possible care and attention."
Johnson has made 45 first-team appearances for City since making his debut in the 4-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic more than three years ago.
