Four-week absence for Robinho
13 Sep 2009 - 11:20:28
Manchester City forward Robinho is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines with a stress fracture to his ankle.
The British record £32million striker returned from international duty with Brazil earlier in the week with an ankle problem and scans have revealed a stress fracture.
Robinho missed Saturday's 4-2 victory over Arsenal which maintained City's 100 per cent start to the season.
Afterwards manager Mark Hughes admitted the South American star was facing a "three to four-week" spell on the sidelines.
That means he will definitely miss next weekend's derby date with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Carlos Tevez also remains a major doubt to face his former club. The Argentina striker also missed the impressive victory over the Gunners after picking up a knee problem on international duty.
"We'll do everything in our power to get him fit," said Hughes. "For obvious reasons, he'd love to play in that match."
