Fabregas rules out City move
10 Sep 2008 - 08:29:04
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has dismissed rumours linking him with a transfer to Manchester City.
The Spain international insists he has no intention of moving to Eastlands, which is set to be transformed by the Abu Dhabi United Group's prospective takeover of the club.
Robinho has already moved to City from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee and Fabregas, Gianluigi Buffon, Kaka and Cristian Ronaldo are just some of the players who have been linked with similar switches.
However, Fabregas told Sky Sports News: "To be honest, I have never heard anything from Manchester City.
"It is true that someone told me they had mentioned my name when they were talking about some players.
"It's always nice to hear your name, but as I said before I'm happy here and I will have success here.
"In the future, no one knows, but for the moment I will give all my power and much more in the years to come.
"I think it's a bit weird for a player of Robinho's quality to go from Real Madrid to Manchester City.
"I'm not saying anything against Manchester City, but I thought it was a bit weird. He's got his reasons for sure and I wish him all the best."
