Manchester City's Brazil international midfielder Elano has urged compatriot Ronaldinho to join him at Eastlands.
Elano, who scored ten goals in 38 appearances during his debut season in the Premier League, has been excited by the prospect of his international colleague joining the club from Barcelona.
City's ambitious owner Thaksin Shinawatra has revealed his 'dream' of signing the former world and European player of the year and Elano believes Ronaldinho would be an excellent acquisition.
"This is not a common transfer, to move from Barcelona to Manchester City," he admitted.
"It is not something that is considered usual but I know the structure that the club has and I know it could be good for him."
Speaking at his first press conference after being unveiled as City's new manager, Mark Hughes also revealed his interest in signing players of the profile of Ronaldinho.
He said: "There's a lot of talk about the quality of players that can come here.
"If they're available at the right price then I will be interested."
