Content Robinho sets target
28 Oct 2008 - 12:36:29
Brazil international Robinho sees no reason why he can't score 30 goals for Manchester City this season.
After scoring a hat-trick against Stoke City on Sunday, the 24-year-old former Real Madrid star has now found the net six times in only eight starts for Mark Hughes' side and is on course to reach his target.
He said: "My main objective is that the team does well, but my personal objective is that I achieve 30 goals.
"I'm happy, but not completely happy because I still have a lot to give and to learn. I'll be happy if we have achieved a good season at the end of this season."
Meanwhile, Hughes is delighted with the form Robinho has shown since moving to Eastlands in a record £32million deal in August.
He said: "He'll get stronger as a consequence of playing in the Premier League.
"Just by virtue of playing week in, week out he will develop exponentially.
"There will come a point where maybe his form will dip. But given the way he approaches training I can see him maintaining his standards from start to finish."
