City sweat on Sinclair

Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has conceded that losing Trevor Sinclair to injury would be a "big blow" but is hopeful scans will allay his fears.

The former England international was stretchered off in the first half of Sunday's clash with Bolton, prompting suggestions he could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Sinclair missed most of last season with a knee injury but marked his return to fitness with some impressive displays on the right in the early weeks of this campaign.

Pearce said: "We'll review his situation. We think he has just stretched his ligaments slightly and hope he's okay.

"The form he's been in, it would be a big blow to lose him."
