Reports suggest Manchester City will win the race to sign Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson even though Gordon Strachan is continuing to say the 22-year-old will remain on Teesside.
It is believed that City are willing to pay Boro £5millionfor Johnson, whose contract at the Riverside Stadium expires in the summer.
Roberto Mancini sees Johnson as the perfect replacement for Robinho who agreed a six-month loan switch to Santos on Thursday evening.
Johnson has scored 12 goals for Boro so far this season and has been linked with moves to Sunderland, Everton and Wolves.
Strachan said: "We've had verbal offers in the last week for Adam, but nothing's changed. Adam's still here and I'd expect him still to be here for the last 19 games of the season."
