City's Johnson left out by Fabio
Manchester City midfielder Adam Johnson has been left out of England's World Cup squad, although three City players do make Capello's final 23. Johnson had been named in the initial 30-man training squad for the friendlies against Mexico and Japan but has failed to make the plane for South Africa. Having been tipped for an outside bet for a place, Johnson played just five minutes against Mexico on his debut and did not appear in the game with Japan. His fellow winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has been selected by Capello, and will be joined in South Africa by City team-mates Joe Hart and Gareth Barry.
