City open talks over Kaka

14 Jan 2009 - 07:28:30

Manchester City are reported to have made a sensational 100million euro bid for AC Milan's Brazilian star Kaka.

City, who broke the British transfer record when they paid Real Madrid £32.5million for fellow Brazilian Robinho in January, have now set their sights on the former world and European player of the year.

Reports claim that a delegation from Eastlands travelled to Italy on Tuesday to hold talks with their Milan counterparts.

City are believed to have tabled a 100million euro offer (£91million) and would be willing to pay Kaka 15million euros (£13.65million) per season.

A website owned by Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi claims that City intend to sign the attacking midfielder "at all costs".

"This time they (City) are here for real with an official delegation," said the report on the Mediaset website.

"Manchester City want Kaka at all costs and they have shown their cards.

"Garry Cook, two representatives of Sheik Mansour and Kia Joorabchian, who is acting as a mediator, met with Adriano Galliani and Ernesto Bronzetti (Milan chief executive and commercial director) and made their offer."

Kaka, 26, joined Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003 and has won the Serie A title, Champions League and Club World Cup during his time with the Rossoneri.
