Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has revealed he is a long-time admirer of Juventus' Milos Krasic.
Mancini tried to sign the 25-year-old winger from CSKA Moscow for former club Internazionale.
He also returned to bid for the Serbia international after taking over at Eastlands halfway through last season.
Krasic swapped Moscow for Juventus in the summer in a £12million deal and he will come up against City and Mancini in a high-profile Europa League tie on Thursday night.
"He's a player I have always followed," revealed Mancini.
"I tried to sign him when I was Inter coach and I tried again when I arrived at City."
