Big-spending Manchester City have been linked with moves for Wolfsburg's star striker Edin Dzeko, as well as Real Madrid pair Gonzalo Higuain and Fernando Gago.
Twenty-four-year-old Bosnia international Dzeko is a target for a number of top clubs across Europe after scoring 66 goals in 112 league and European games for the Wolves.
AC Milan had seemed hot favourites to land Dzeko after he almost moved to the San Siro a year ago, but now City are hoping to trump the Italian giants.
Meanwhile, the Citizens are also rumoured to be in talks with Real over Argentinian duo striker Higuain and midfielder Gago, with manager Roberto Mancini seeking to add further quality to his squad this summer.
However, Real seem determined to hold on to Higuain, with sporting director Jorge Valdano telling Marca: "He is under contract for three more years and has been a key man this season - he is not transferable."
