Caicedo seeks Sporting move

Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo has admitted that he would relish the chance to join Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

The 20-year-old Ecuador international's first-team prospects at Eastlands look dim and Caicedo has welcomed interest from elsewhere.

He said: "For me it is difficult to get in the starting eleven at City and the opportunity to go to Sporting would be good.

"I don't think it would be a problem to adapt to life in Portugal and the possibility to play in the Champions League appeals to me.

"The coach at Sporting (Paulo Bento) has asked about my services and it is nice to feel wanted as a player."

Caicedo moved to England in January 2008 from FC Basel and has scored eight times in 35 appearances for City.
