Caicedo seals Sporting switch

Sporting Lisbon have completed the signing of Ecuador international striker Felipe Caicedo on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The 20-year-old was likely to find first-team opportunities limited with the Citizens and is happy to have the chance to impress in Portugal.

He told Sky Sports: "My objective is to play and to demonstrate that I can triumph in Europe.

"City have many forwards who have arrived this summer and they have complicated my presence.

"For me it is difficult to get in the starting eleven at City and the opportunity to go to Sporting is a personal challenge to me.

"I don't think it will be a problem to adapt to life in Portugal and the possibility to play in the Champions League appeals to me."
