Buffon plays down City link

Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has dismissed talk of him being one of the top names on Manchester City's wish-list.

The 30-year-old is rumoured to the subject of major interest from the newest mega-rich club on the block, but Buffon says he is content to remain in Turin.

He commented: "It is fantasy football and I always doubt talk of this kind of incredible bid.

"I really doubt anyone would offer £60million for me, as I am six years older than Kaka.

"I am happy to be the most expensive goalkeeper in the world thanks to my £32million move from Parma to Juventus.

"It is increasingly difficult to find symbols in modern football clubs and I don't know if Juve would even let me go.

"The old administration would've done, but this time it's different. I am aware that I'm an important player for the Bianconeri and I am very proud of that fact."
