Bojinov close to Parma loan

Bulgaria international Valeri Bojinov is on the verge of sealing his move from Manchester City to Serie A newcomers Parma.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete a one-season loan move to the Italian side later this week.

"We are almost there," said Parma's chief Tommaso Ghirardi.

"We are ready to seal a deal with the Bulgarian and it should go through very soon.

"With his arrival, we will complete the squad and let us hope we will have a good season and possibly have a bit of good luck on our side."

Bojinov, who has endured an injury-ravaged two seasons at Eastlands, was inked with a transfer to Lazio earlier this month.

He is unlikely to feature in Mark Hughes' first-team plans this season following the recent captures of Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Bojinov started only three matches for City following his transfer from Fiorentina two years ago.
