    Adebayor told to keep calm

    21 Apr 2010 - 11:38:02

Manchester City captain Kolo Toure has told colleague Emmanuel Adebayor to keep his mind on the game as they prepare to face former club Arsenal on Saturday.

The pair, who left the Gunners for City last summer, face a crunch clash at their former Emirates Stadium home chasing a win that would significantly aid their top-four challenge.

However, Adebayor caused outrage in their clash in September after scoring against his former employers during a 4-2 win at City of Manchester Stadium.

The Togo international sprinted the full length of the pitch to celebrate his headed strike in front of the visiting Arsenal fans before appearing to stamp on the hand of former colleague Robin Van Persie.

He was handed a retrospective three-match ban for violent conduct and now Toure wants him to stay focused for the crunch clash in the capital with the striker set for a hostile welcome on his return.

Speaking to reporters, Toure said: "I had a word with him, Patrick (Vieira) had a word with him as well. The most important thing for him is to play and to give everything for our club Man City.

"If we start to be emotional that's when we can drop some points. For us the most important thing is to win the game."

Toure, who left the club on better terms, is hopeful the Gunners' injury problems will aid the Citizens' quest for a vital three points.

"I think it is going to be a great, great day for all of us because we are all looking forward to going back and playing against our old team," he added.

"I think it is a great time to play against them because they have a few injured players and maybe we can come back with some points."
