Zat Knight has hailed the progress made by Bolton after admitting his team-mates were disappointed to share the points with Manchester United.

Knight was on target as Wanderers led twice before drawing 2-2 at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday. Martin Petrov also scored for the hosts with Nani and Michael Owen replying for United.

'We're disappointed not have beaten Manchester United, which shows how far we've come,' Knight told Bolton's website.

Zat's the way to do it: Knight wheels away to celebrate his goal against United

'It's a massive result for us and after the game we feel like we've lost two points.

'We've taken the lead twice and then we're disappointed to have conceded the last equaliser. But we'll work on things and continue to improve.

'We've come a really long way. We did a fantastic job at Aston Villa and we're always looking to build on performances like that.

'I think we've had a fantastic start to the season given the teams we've played. We've lost just once, and if that had been offered to us at the start of the season we'd have grabbed it.'
