Young United Keeper Goes To Oldham

Oldham have signed Manchester United academy goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on loan following an injury to Dale Connor. England youth international Johnstone, 18, goes to Boundary Park on a temporary basis to cover for Connor who cracked a bone in a finger in training on Monday. This has left the league one side with just a 16 year old (Luke Simpson) as the only keeper on their books. Johnstone has been drafted in as temporary cover and will make his first appearance for the club against Burnley on Tuesday night before also appearing in Oldham's final warm-up game at Fleetwood on Saturday. "Sam is very highly rated by United and we are delighted he is here to help us out," boss Paul Dickov told the club's official website.
